Who we are

We are an economically and politically independent consultancy and research bureau with branches in Bern and Altdorf. Founded in 1988, Ecoplan is a public limited company that is wholly owned by its partners. Our success is measured by the satisfaction of our customers. The key to this lies both in the quality of our analysis and consultancy services and in our close working relationships with our customers. Ecoplan provides its services carbon neutral.

Samuel Zahner heads the Environment and Energy Division and has been a partner at Ecoplan since 2025. Since 2018, his thematic focus has been on sustainability, climate, water, biodiversity and agriculture. He studied geography and economics at the University of Bern. At the same time he worked at the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Berne. From 2014 to 2017 he managed and coordinated numerous projects at the Federal Office for the Environment.
