Matthias Setz and Samuel Zahner, both long-standing employees, are new partners at Ecoplan starting January 1, 2025. Matthias Setz takes over the management of the Transport division from René Neuenschwander. Samuel Zahner succeeds André Müller and takes over the Energy and Environment division. René Neuenschwander takes over as Chairman of the Board of Directors from Felix Walter. Felix Walter and André Müller are stepping down from the partnership at the end of 2024. Both will remain with the company as Senior Experts.

Ecoplan, together with Infras and other partners, has recalculated the external effects of transport in Switzerland for 2021. The previous methodology was specifically reviewed and revised.

As a result of various methodological adjustments, the external costs of total transport are significantly higher than those calculated using the previous methodology. The main reasons for this significant increase are the higher climate cost rate (which is now based on the expected damage instead of avoidance costs as previously), new dose-response functions (e.g. the link between air pollution and the frequency of premature deaths) and the inclusion of the three new diseases dementia, lung cancer and diabetes in air pollution.
